Planet of the Jellies
I brought a tripod to the Monterey Bay Aquarium one day and learned a valuable lesson. The crowd standing in front of the exhibits parted like biblical waters when they saw the tripod. I could probably have mounted a cupcake on the tripod and still had the exhibits to myself. (Click to Zoom still works.)

I smell PhotoShop!
Not this time. The idea (or wild hope) when shooting amongst crowds is to wait and to wait as long as it takes to get the shot.
I can’t decide which one I like best. When that’s the case, you must know you’ve done well.
You wouldn’t believe how many I threw out! I have to admit it was the most gorgeous aquatic exhibit I’d ever seen.
i like how the people sway with the jellie fish
Beautiful. See, when you learn PhotoShop, people accuse you unnecessarily. And, yes, photography is all about patience and waiting for the right shot, sort of like bird watching. It’s a solitary occupation. Gorgeous photos.
Thanks! Now I understand bird watchers. I always thought those people were crazy. Now I get it…”a solitary occupation”.
