Congressman John FlemingCongressman John Fleming, a Louisiana physician, has proposed an amendment that would require congressmen and senators to take the same health care plan they force on us (under proposed legislation they are curiously exempt).

I’m not going to blab on about the goodies we give elected officials, I’ve already done that in three posts. I’d like to say a few words to the stupid people with whom I have to share the country. We don’t have a health care system, we have a market system, an unregulated market system. It doesn’t get more amoral than that.

What’s worse though in my mind is how willing we are to treat elected officials as though they are royals, more deserving of superior health care than we are. Now that’s just plain sick.

And taxes? Please. It’s the Forever War that has bankrupted the country and the stupid people never once questioned the cost of war the way they questioned, whined and moaned about the cost of health care….for decades and long before we spent our entire household budget onĀ  the war. It is a family budget you know and you do get to decide whether or not you should get the same (equal) treatment (pardon the pun) that you so graciously provide your elected officials….in some cases for life. Hello? Are you blushing?

Then there’s all the gnashing of teeth over the word “socialized”. Really. How dumb can you get? Your local fire department is a “socialized” system where workers are paid directly from city, county, state or federal taxes. Directly. I don’t pay the fire department and then get reimbursed by insurance. I don’t have an insurance policy that covers an appointment with the fire department. Even medicare isn’t socialized although it sucks compared to what we give elected officials. Take a sociology course. Or medication.

Better yet, if you don’t understand that the tax burden is a direct result of Bush the Boob’s war, and you don’t think you deserve the same health care you give elected officials, and you can’t figure out what’s socialized and what’s not….why don’t you sit this one out.
